We are located in 33 Street. Our premises are easily walked to from Wellesley Street, Queen Street, and High Street.

On Queen Street there is a shopping mall with a walk through to Lorne Street. Look for the 280 Queen Street mall, when you are downtown.

The 280 Queen Street building is large spacious, with double escalators and a throughway to the Lorne Street side of the building. When you exit into Lorne Street, turn left, and enter into iPlay Internet Cafe. Our staff will greet you by the counter area. You are welcome at iPlay.

Our counter are is an oasis for our thirsty or hungry customers.

iPlay serves a wide selection of cold beverages, and has a small selection of chocolate bars, and packets of chips (crisps).

Hot beverages are available, our selection is 'cappuccino', 'vienna coffee', and 'hot chocolate'.

Hot meals are available, - instant noodle soup (in various flavours), that you can add hot water too, and eat after 2-3 minutes cooking time.

Privacy | Security | Surveillance Cameras

Our premises are there for the use and enjoyment of our customers. We therefore take care to provide adequate privacy and security for everyone at our iPlay Internet Cafe premises.

To deter unwanted or criminal behaviour we have surveillance cameras recording every part of the customer areas, including the terminal areas, counter area, and entrance and exit doors.

IPlay has a lost and found box for customer who may have left a personal belonging behind, during their last visit at iPlay. Please ask at the counter about lost and found.

We recommend customers take care of their personal belongings, by keeping them on their person or in a closed bag that they can easily keep an eye on. Likewise it may be best to take the card used to operate the computer, out of the slot and take it with you, whenever you leave your terminal for a few minutes. This can prevent theft, which in many cases is an opportunist crime, that is partially preventable.

iPlay does not keep, and is not interested in, in any information about customers internet web site visits, customer typed information, e-mail exchanges, programs used on iPlay terminals, or similar. We actively ensure there is no spyware our terminals.

Based on our capability for video surveillance and in the general interests of our customer, law and order, we reserve the right to trespass anyone who has committed or attempted to commit any illegal act. We believe this is in the best interests of all parties.

Virus | Anti-Virus | Spyware

Virus

Viruses exist on the internet and they pose a risk when user machines become infected. There are many web sites that are completely virus free, they are trusted sites that take great care in maintaining their reputation to be virus free. However many other sites purposely download viruses onto user machines for destructive or exploitative purposes. You the user can take care when surfing the internet by avoiding dodgy web sites that are likely to carry viruses or download unwanted programs.

Firefox / Mozilla Browser

We recommend users use the Firefox / Mozilla Browser for added online safety. Firefox / Mozilla offers better privacy and security features than other web-browsers.

Anti-Virus

Our Network is protected by a very powerful firewall built into the networks router. The Server connected to our router runs Anti-Virus software for all incoming and outgoing traffic. The terminals themselves have no anti virus installed, however every terminal is 'locked' which means that any changes, any information, anything the user did or didn't do on that terminal is wiped when the machine is restarted and the original 'locked' state of the machine is restored.

Spyware

Use the Task Manager

If you believe spyware of similarly undesirable programs are running on your terminal, - Press CTRL ALT DEL simultaneously on your keyboard. The task manager program will open. Click on the "Processes" tab and then read the list of processes running to see if any unusual program is running. In case you don't know what a particular process does, note its name and search up its definition on Google.

Use Spyware Detection Software

You can also download an excellent free of charge spyware detection program online. Go to www.safer-networking.org and download the program "Spybot - Search & Destroy". Then install the program on your terminal and run the spyware detection program. If you discover that spyware or any undesirable program has been detected, simply delete it using the option provided in the program. We can practically guarantee that any spyware you encounter would only have come from a web site that you visited yourself during your session at that terminal. All information, including web sites visited is erased when the terminal is restarted, leaving viruses and undesirable programs no chance to lodge themselves into our machines or anywhere on the network.
